Oh how the hell to get my alxe out... I can’t find any clear instruction on what I have to remove before taking it out, and hopefully someone here can figure it out. (Also please ignore how terrible my car is...)

Step 1. Get a real jack

Step 2. Get some jackstands

If you’re gonna be wrenching on your car yourself I cant stress enough how important those two are.

Got both, actually. I was using the spare jack to raise the control arm

In that case, carry on.

You’ll have to pop the ball joint or if you’re really lucky you can remove the tie rod and there'll be enough clearance.

You’ll need to remove that huge nut holding on the hub (center of the rotor). You may also need to remove the spindle at the strut to get enough clearance to remove the axle. After it’s all loose the axle just pops out of the transmission with a good tug.

Have you used youtube or a chilton’s manual?

My guess is you will have to remove the steering and suspension bits and then remove the wheel hub from the axle. I’m guessing you will have to do that on both sides to be close to removing the axle. That’s the closest I’ve come to removing an axle so I wouldn’t know where to go from there...

I’ve got a Haynes manual for my car, but even that makes me jump around to 4 different chapters and tells me to remove ever suspension component... And I’ve looked on youtube, but it seems different for every car so that just gave me general info

I would say at the least the yellow. If the shock wont swing enough then youll need to do the 2 bottom bolts on the shock, maybe just the bottom one and loosen the top.

Well you probably do have to remove every suspension component. Not completely from the car, just from the hub assembly.

If you don’t mind me asking, what car do you have? Maybe I can help find something.

Also why do you need to take your axle out? That sounds like a pretty major operation, I wish you all of the lucks.

Yeah, I figured I didn’t need to strip the car haha. It’s a 1993 Sentra SE-R, and I’m replacing the axle because the boot was ripped when I bought the car a year ago, so the bearings are shot

Ah, pictures always help! I tried seperating the control arm from the steering knuckle, but I couldn’t get them apart. Is there any special tool for that, or do I just have to brute force it?

I just put this back together on my MINI, there probably is a special too. I just used a BFH. Worked ok with some PB blaster.

Might need a ball joint separator. Or sledge hammer, but I wouldn’t want to break a part or bend the tie rod

You can rent the joint separators from your parts stores, no need to buy one ;)

Oh man that’s rough. So is the axle shot too? Or do you just need to replace the bearings in the hubs? Also besides getting a joint puller at the shop, you’ll need access to a hydraulic press more likely than not for the bearings. In theory you can hammer out the bearings, but you will definitely need a press to properly put the bearings back in. This video is a bit annoying, but you should be able to get the info you need. Otherwise do what DarrenMR said.

Amazingly I had to do very nearly what you are doing just because a wheel bolt sheared off on my honda.... required me to take the whole damn wheel assembly apart, but I learned a lot. I took my wheel hub/bearing to the local dealership since I figured they wouldn’t mind helping a guy wrenching on his own car.

Is there a nut in the center of the brake rotor?

Just an aside: anytime I can’t find the manufacturer shop manual for a car, I buy every off brand manual for that car I can get. They mostly have the same information, but vary in wording, pictures and thoroughness and I’ve been saved multiple times by first referencing one, then checking another that happened to have the secret sauce I needed.
